The Oneida County village worked with an art student to replace the original 40-year-old seal that depicted founder Hugh White wrestling an American Indian, that was ridiculed by Comedy Central's "The Daily Show." Meant to commemorate a friendly wrestling match between White and a member of the local Oneida tribe, the image appeared to show a white man choking an Indian. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
