This undated photo provided by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice shows Eric Williams. Texas' highest criminal court Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, upheld the former North Texas justice of the peace's conviction and death sentence for killing a district attorney's wife in what prosecutors said was a revenge plot that left three people dead. Attorneys for Williams argued to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals that there were 40 errors at his December 2014 trial where a jury decided he should die for the slaying of Cynthia McLelland, 65. She and her husband, Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland, 63, were shot to death in their home in Forney, a suburb east of Dallas, in 2013. (Texas Department of Criminal Justice via AP)
