Timothy Alan Roy who died during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, is sworn in as a new cadet at the NYPD Police Academy in the Queens borough of New York. Roy was one of 474 cadets to be sworn in during the ceremony. Roy's father was assigned to the NYPD's surface transit enforcement division and was working in Brooklyn courts when the terrorists flew two planes into the World Trade Center. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
