This undated photo provided by Aquarium of the Pacific shows Charlie, a male sea otter. Charlie, the oldest southern sea otter held by any zoo or aquarium, died Monday, April 22, 2019 at the age of 22, at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, Calif. Male southern sea otters typically only live 10 to 14 years in the wild. Charlie celebrated his birthday last month by eating special, colorful seafood cupcakes. He also took part in research efforts, such as providing blood and taking part in a study on how sea otters perceive sound. (Robin Riggs/Aquarium of the Pacific via AP)
