Commercial fishers are suing the Port of San Francisco, claiming gross negligence that resulted in a massive fire in May that destroyed a warehouse the size of a football field where the fishers stored their gear. The fishers claim in a lawsuit filed Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, that the port knew homeless people entered the warehouse and cooked in it, failed to maintain its aging electrical system, stored flammable materials in the building and even failed to ensure enough water on the premises to fight the fire.
