Happ came up to the majors on May 13, less than two years after he was selected with the ninth overall pick in the first round. He's been so impressive for the defending World Series champions that manager Joe Maddon has not only kept him in the lineup but batted him cleanup over the weekend behind reigning NL MVP Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo.
