In her final months, Geslicki, a bedridden dementia resident at the care home, had difficulty communicating. But by the time the owner of the care home sent her to the hospital in an ambulance, the severe pressure sores and bite marks from rats gnawing on her flesh spoke for themselves. An investigation has found that some operators of senior board-and-care homes violate labor laws, steal workers' wages and endanger or neglect their residents, sometimes with dire consequences. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
