Army Sgt. 1st Class Lester R. Walker, accounted for on Sept. 26, 2017, will be buried Wednesday, April 18, 2018, in Downsville, La. Walker, 19, of Ferriday, Louisiana, was captured during the Korean War. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency says Army Sgt. 1st Class Walker, will be buried in Downsville following graveside services Saturday at Ruggs Bluff Cemetery. Walker was a member of Battery B, 82nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division on Sept. 3, 1950 and was declared missing in action near Changnyeong, South Korea, while attached to Task Force Haynes. The unidentified remains were buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, known as the Punchbowl, in Hawaii. (Department of Defense via AP)

Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
