FILE - In this Sept. 14, 2017 file photo, Vince Gill performs during a memorial service for country music singer Troy Gentry at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn. Gill is defending the Recording Academy over the criticism that female artists were underrepresented at this year’s Grammy Awards. Gill says it’s impossible not to leave someone off the list each year and that some group always feels slighted. The country music star made the comments earlier this week of Feb. 12, 2018, before a benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame in New York where he shared the stage with Emmylou Harris, Maren Morris, and Kesha.
