Cummings, D-Md., participates at the House subcommittee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington, to investigate the Justice Department's investigation into the IRS abuse scandal. On Friday, May 3, 2019, The Associated Press has found that stories circulating on the internet that Cummings wrote a bill to keep Obama’s records sealed, but he insists that Congress must see all of President Trump’s financial records, are untrue. The Presidential and Federal Records Act Amendments of 2014 gives current and former presidents 60 days to review their records after being notified that they will be made public in the National Archives.
