Five arrests were made early Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, when about 100 people tried to block an equipment convoy for a solar telescope being built on a Hawaii mountain held sacred by Native Hawaiians. Police say officers acted appropriately when six people were arrested while trying to block an equipment convoy from reaching a mountain where a solar telescope is being built. Some protesters who tried to block the convoy earlier this week say officers used excessive force. Police responded to the allegations Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, saying officials have reviewed reports and video of the arrests. (Matthew Thayer/The News via AP, File)
