This photo taken from video provided by WFMY News 2 shows turkeys scattered after a tractor-trailer overturned in Guilford, County, N.C., on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018. According to the patrol, the tractor-trailer was carrying hundreds of turkeys, some of which were killed. Those which survived were loaded onto another truck. The patrol said 39-year-old Devin Edward Long suffered minor injuries and was taken to a Greensboro hospital for treatment of minor injuries. According to troopers, Long fell asleep at the wheel before the tractor-trailer overturned. ( WFMY News 2 via AP)

A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
