City officials are demanding that managers of the sinking condominium building where a window recently cracked comply with several safety measures needed to keep the public safe. Department of Building Inspection Assistant Director Ronald Tom said Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 that Millennium Tower management has to repair a window washing crane, inspect all units and install a canopy around the entire perimeter of the 58-story building by Friday afternoon. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
