A federal lawsuit filed Wednesday, June 27, 2018, by the Kushner Cos. claims Jersey City "put politics over principle" when it broke a contract with developers over the planned One Journal Square project. Democratic Mayor Steven Fulop publicly opposed granting tax breaks to the project before his November re-election and there have been protests at another Kushner-owned building in this heavily Democratic city.
