Netanyahu has broad support in the new parliament and a friendly ally in the White House for his long-promised goal. Annexation, the likely death blow to faded Palestinian hopes for independence, will be high on the agenda of U.S. secretary of state Mike Pompeo’s blitz visit to Jerusalem next week.
