This photo taken Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 shows a Jewish manuscript smuggled into Israel from Damascus in a Mossad spy operation in the early 1990s, in Jerusalem. The manuscript is one of the earliest existing complete manuscripts of the Hebrew bible. The Jerusalem District Court ruled Monday, Aug. 17, 2020 that the books were “treasures of the Jewish people” that had “historic, religious and national importance” and must be preserved. It determined that the best way to do so would be to keep them at the National Library under a public trust.  (AP Photo/Sebastian Scheiner)
