
Two women and two men are dead after two shootings at a Sunoco gas station and in a nearby neighborhood on Detroit's west side, Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, police say. Police believe the shootings are connected. The first happened at about 8:40 a.m. Monday at the gas station on the corner of Fenkell and Beaverland near Telegraph. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
