FILE - In this July 25, 2017 file photo Mississippi State defensive coordinator Todd Grantham speaks to reporters about team goals this upcoming season during Media Day in Starkville, Miss. Florida’s defense last season was historically bad. The Gators allowed their most points per game since 1946 and their most yards per play since at least World War II. They are counting on Grantham making a huge difference. He has a recent history of quick fixes, including at Mississippi State last season. The Bulldogs improved from 93rd in scoring defense in 2016 to 26th in 2017, and jumped from 110th in total defense in 2016 to 10th. (AP Photo/Rogelio V. Solis, file)
