This 1962 photo shows author Flannery O'Connor in the driveway at Andalusia in Georgia. . The final home of O’Connor is being given to Georgia College after a small foundation struggled to keep up the historic property. The Savannah-born author spent the last 13 years of her life on the middle Georgia dairy farm known as Andalusia. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
