
Paul and Monique Jones have been married for thirty-seven years. She fled the Nazis during WWII and he served during the Korean War. Before Nov. 7, 1980, Paul and Monique Jones lived two lifetimes’ worth of experiences in war and peace. That was the day they married — the second, happier marriage for both — and in nearly four decades since then, they’ve enjoyed life together, the last 17 years of which have been spent in Daugherty Township. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
