In this Oct. 4, 2018 photo, Christine Gruber notes the condition of the tombstone of Donald Luster, a member of the all-black 370th Infantry Division military headstone at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington, Ill. Gruber and her husband, Gary, have been restoring several of the headstones that have been obscured by decades of weather. The Gruber's didn't know anything about Luster who served during WW I until they "adopted" their graves as part of a project to honor McLean County soldiers who died during World War I.
