Federal Judge Mark Wolf, who granted DiMasi an early release from prison, on Friday, March 31, 2017, denied a request to ease his home confinement, but agreed to allow him to participate in a rehabilitation program at the YMCA and leave home for up to two hours of exercise a day. DiMasi was granted compassionate release after serving five of eight years in prison on corruption charges. He was treated for tongue and prostate cancer while in prison.
