The New York trial of Guzman is drawing to a close, but the question of controlling the corruption that allowed the Sinaloa cartel to flourish in Mexico will live on even after jurors reach a verdict. Jurors are expected to begin deliberating Monday after 11 weeks of testimony that included a parade of Guzman's former drug world associates who told of massive bribes paid to high-level officials, including a $100 million bribe to Nieto.
