In this June 6, 2013 photo provided by the Missouri Department of Corrections is Maria Isa. Prison officials said that Isa died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 of apparent natural causes at a prison in Vandalia, Mo. The 70-year-old was serving a life sentence for the 1989 slaying of her teenage daughter in a crime that was chillingly captured on an FBI surveillance tape and apparently prompted by the girl’s resistance to the family’s Islamic traditions.
