This May 2015 photo provided by Sumner Crawford shows the Pioneer Cabin tunnel tree, a giant sequoia that had a tunnel carved into it in the 1880s, during a visit to Calaveras Big Trees State Park near Arnold, Calif. The tree was toppled over by a massive storm Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017. Crawford said that he was stunned by the sequoia's size — when his family of four tried to join hands around the tree they discovered they couldn't even come close. (Sumner Crawford via AP)
