An attorney for Ferrante, a former University of Pittsburgh medical researcher serving a life prison term for first-degree murder, asked a three-judge Pennsylvania Superior Court panel Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, to grant a new trial in the April 2013 death of Ferrante's wife Dr. Autumn Klein, or allow for an evidentiary hearing. Ferrante claims, among other things, that Klein's donated liver suggests she wasn't poisoned with cyanide, as prosecutors contend. (AP Photo/Keith Srakocic, File)
