Police searched Thursday, March 6, 2014, for an 11-year-old girl who was reported missing after her mother was found slain in their home in Dundalk. Baltimore County Police believe the girl, Caitlyn Virts, is with her father, 38-year-old Timothy Virts, and they are concerned for her safety, department spokeswoman Elise Armacost said.

A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
