Police investigate the scene of a a fatal officer-involved shooting Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 in Charlotte, N.C. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said in a tweet that at least one officer was involved in the shooting early Friday that left one person dead and another hospitalized with nonlife-threatening wounds. Police said no officers were injured. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
