Adam Driver credits the attack on September 11th, 2001 as an influence on his decision to enlist. When he graduated high school, he joined the Corps and easily acclimated to life as a Marine. However, before he had a chance to deploy he injured his sternum in a mountain biking accident. After two years in the Corps without a deployment he was discharged for medical reasons

A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
