
This Friday, May 2, 2014 photo shows the house at the scene of the fatal shooting of Alaska State Trooper Sergeant Patrick "Scott" Johnson and Trooper Gabriel "Gabe" Rich in the village of Tanana, Alaska. Two men have been taken into custody for the shooting deaths of the troopers. The troopers had gone to Tanana to follow up on a report Wednesday night that someone had brandished a firearm in the village. The two troopers were occasionally featured on the National Geographic Channel show "Alaska State Troopers," which features multiple troopers patrolling the state's wild terrain. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
