
Shane Battier is a retired professional basketball and was a member of the U.S. national basketball team. He played four years of college basketball at Duke, where he captured the 2001 National Championship and swept the major National Player of the Year awards. He is the only basketball player to have ever won both the Naismith Prep Player of the Year Award (1997) and the Naismith College Player of the Year (2001). Battier was a two-time Academic All-American and Academic All-American of the year in 2001

Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
