Rooney Mara is an American actress. She made her screen debut in the slasher film Urban Legends: Bloody Mary (2005) and went on to have a breakout role in the independent coming-of-age drama Tanner Hall (2009), followed by roles in the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street and the biographical drama film The Social Network (2010). Mara was born and raised in Bedford, New York, a town in Westchester County. Mara's mother's family founded the Pittsburgh Steelers and her father's family founded the New York Giants.
