Ron Darling Jr. former MLB pitcher who played for the New York Mets, Montreal Expos, and Oakland Athletics. During his 13-year career, Darling amassed a 136–116 won-loss record, with 13 shutouts. He had 1,590 strikeouts and a 3.87 ERA. In 1985, he was picked for the All-Star team. Darling attended Yale College, where he had two majors that were collectively called "American studies." Darling is currently a commentator for the Mets, and has authored The Complete Game: Reflections on Baseball, Pitching, and Life on the Mound.
