It is named after the virgin saint whose body was said to have been brought by angels after her execution on spiked wheel in the early 4th century. On November 15, Israel will withdraw from the area around Mount Sinai in the southern central sector of the Sinai Peninsula. The monastery’s library is considered second in importance only to the Vatican as an archive of Christian Holy Scriptures. (AP Photo)
