IMAGE DISTRIBUTED FOR AIDS HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION - Food for Health – a free, nutritious fresh food distribution program created by AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) – hosted a special holiday Christmas event attended by hundreds during its weekly farmers market at The Sinclair Hotel in the Westlake neighborhood in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025. In addition to its regular distribution of fresh produce, bread, eggs, and staples to Southern Californians in need, Food for Health also took over its parking lot for a the holiday party for patrons of the pantry, families, and children. Events include a Skechers' giveaway of tennis shoes, a children's corner and toy giveaway, a DJ, and a guest appearance by Santa. Food for Health serves more than 20,000 people monthly throughout Southern California, including over 450 individuals and families at its weekly food pantry at the Sinclair. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
