D.C. Attorney General Irvin B. He did say there was precedent for asking Councilman Harry "Tommy" Thomas Jr. to step down from his position as chairman of the Economic Development Committee, but said that he leaves it up to the council to make a decision about that. Nathan brought charges against Councilman Thomas for allegedly funneling some $300,000 in funds earmarked for youth sports programs to his own business, as well as using $80,000 in private donations to pay for his personal vehicle. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
