The increasing price of cocoa beans, the primary ingredient in making chocolate, has been upping the price of Valentine's Day candy this year. Designer chocolatiers have been applying a method called "bean-to-bar," which uses 70 percent cocoa compared to as little as 10 percent in large-scale production. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
