Appearing sometime in 2017, the Chevrolet Bolt will take on the upcoming Tesla Model 3. Powertrain specs are vague this far from the production date, but expect the Bolt to pack a long-range battery, a compact electric motor, and a direct-drive gearbox. The Bolt’s edgy styling and upright hatchback design should satisfy buyers on both aesthetic and practicality fronts; the Bolt promises to be an EV for the people by carrying a base price of $30,000.

A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
