CRAIG bisacre/Special to the washington times Walter Novak, 68, from Marylad’s Eastern Shore has his grandson Dominic Jr., 9, write RGIII on his forehead with sharpie in preparation for the Redskins NFC wild card game against the Seattle Seahawks, outside of FedEx Field on Sunday. Mr. Novak became a Redskins fan when he was 6 years old at Griffith Stadium and has been passing down his fanhood to his son and now his grandson.

Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
