Egyptian Coptic Christians vent their anger in front of the state television building in Cairo after the recent attacks on Christians and churches. In the past few weeks, riots have broken out at two churches in southern Egypt, prompted by Muslim crowds angered by rumors that Christians were building new churches. The violence is particularly frustrating for Copts because after President Hosni Mubarak's fall, the new government promised to review and lift heavy restrictions on building or renovating churches. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
