A 32-year-old female resident of Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico was arrested Sunday for attempting to smuggle 246 pounds of marijuana through the Port of Douglas. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers selected a Chevrolet truck, driven by Ana C. Gonzalez-Figueroa, for further inspection. After a CBP narcotics detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs, officers located $123,000 worth of marijuana hidden within the vehicle’s seats, undercarriage and spare tire. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
