How badly did Jason Taylor want to return to Miami, his NFL home for his first 11 seasons? Bad enough to walk away from the $8.5 million he would have made for a second season in Washington over the issure of offseason workout attendance and bad enough to spurn a more lucrative contract from the New England Patriots.
The latter fact was reported by ESPN’s John Clayton in the wake of the announcement that the 34-year-old active sacks leader has re-signed with the Dolphins, the team that traded the then-unhappy defensive end to the Redskins for two draft picks last July. Taylor injured a knee in August and underwent emergency calf surgery in September while managing just 3.5 sacks for Washington.
