The heat was back to being searing here at the Park for the Redskins’ second practice — a session that lasted about 70 minutes.

The news and notes:

*Kickers Shaun Suisham and Dave Rayner booted field goals during the first part of the practice. Suisham was 5 of 8 and Rayner 6 of 8. Both kickers were 1 of 2 from beyond 50 yards.

Following practice, special teams coach Danny Smith said Suisham would take the first half Thursday night and Rayner the second half. I would expect this plan to change after the opening game. This is probably the fairest way to start things.

*Expect QB Jason Campbell to take 10-12 snaps. If the Redskins manage a long first drive, Campbell will probably depart.

*Campbell was 4 of 4 on a quick red zone drill with completions to Fred Davis, Devin Thomas, Malcolm Kelly and Antwaan Randle El.

*WR Santana Moss and RB Anthony Aldridge were the only two players without a helmet.

*The Redskins have a walk-through tomorrow and kickoff is shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
