Where was Gang Green?
When I walked into the stadium less than two and a half hours before kickoff, there were very few fans in the parking lot. More fans were wearing vintage Vinny Testaverde No. 16 jerseys than spanking new Brett Favre No. 4 ones.
I know it’s preseason and a sunny August Saturday was more conducive to a day the beach than a night at the stadium, but If this were Philadelphia, I gotta believe the place would have been a green-clad, drunken zoo. That just shows how New Jersey remains very much Giants territory even though the Jets have been playing in the Meadowlands since 1984. Winning only four playoff games in 24 years could have something to do with the lack of passion, too.
