Rookie Kareem Moore will start for free safety LaRon Landry (hamstring). James Thrash will start for receiver Antwaan Randle El (personal reasons). Ladell Betts will start at running back for Clinton Portis, who dislikes preseason.

Others who won’t play are receivers Malcolm Kelly (knee) and Anthony Mix (ribs), offensive tackles Todd Wade (ankle) and Stephon Heyer (knee), defensive end Erasmus James (knee) and linebacker H.B. Blades (knee).

Linebacker Rocky McIntosh will start in his return from knee surgery. Cornerback Carlos Rogers is making a similar comeback but won’t start.
