President-elect Barack Obama says the federal government will do “whatever it takes” to kickstart the economy, Bloomberg is reporting.

That phrase “whatever it takes” always gives me a chill when I hear someone say it, because my mind immediately flashes onto a virgin sacrifice at the mouth of a volcano.
