President Bush has decided to bail out the Big Three automakers with a federal loan of $17.4 billion, Stephen Dinan is reporting.

It’s about half of what the automakers were seeking, so I guess they’ll be only half as broke as they had been.

I just hope that they and the feds remember that the $17.4 billion is a loan. And I hope the feds seek repayment with all the creativity and tenacity of “The Sopranos.”
