Three games, as Maryland guard Pe’Shon Howard cautioned the media horde after Friday’s 91-74 defeat of Long Island, is hardly a lot to judge.
He made reference of that when the Dez Wells‘ comfort level against Long Island was compared to two other games … the point being, the two previous outings was hardly a huge sample size.
SEE RELATED:And he referenced the three games to date when asked about Nick Faust‘s early struggles this season.
So, OK, it’s just three games. No sweeping proclamations here.
Still … the Terrapins (2-1) have played exceptionally well when Seth Allen is on the floor.
As in, a point every two minutes better than their opponents, which is a pretty decent clip.
Maryland is 0.3 points per minute better than the opposition, so it’s not like there aren’t other guys playing well. Alex Len, for instance, is at a robust plus-0.48 points per minute.
That said, Allen is thriving. He scored a team-high 19 points against the Blackbirds, drilling five 3-pointers along the way. At plus-33, he has the second best raw plus-minus on the team behind Len.
It doesn’t mean Allen should be starting. But it also means that it shouldn’t be a shock Allen played the final 14:01 on Friday. He’s fit in about as well as could be imagined, even if it only through three games.
