Georgetown is one of the first schools in the Baltimore/D.C. corridor to release its nonconference schedule. George Washington also did so earlier this month.
(Side note/acknowledgment: Yes, this post lives up to the stereotype of a writer who covers ACC football dabbling in basketball whenever and wherever possible.)
SEE RELATED:Most of the Hoyas’ big games were already known. The aircraft carrier game against Florida (Nov. 9). The two games in the Legends Classic in Brooklyn. The SEC/Big East Challenge game against Tennessee. The Jimmy V Classic date with Texas.
Sprinkled in are a fair number of regional games against the likes of American, Mount St. Mary’s, Longwood and Towson.
(Also: The Dec. 15 game against Western Carolina already looks like a patented Georgetown noon tip at Verizon Center. The Washington Capitals are scheduled to play Tampa Bay at 7 that evening —- lockout permitting, of course).
Anyway, now seems as good a time as any to look at the Hoyas’ nonconference schedule strength, which doesn’t look like it will have much dead weight bringing it down once March arrives)
Do note: Georgetown will play only two of Georgia, Indiana and UCLA in the Legends Classic.
