Virginia attackman Steele Stanwick was the No. 2 overall selection in Friday’s Major League Lacrosse draft. Stanwick was selected by the Ohio Machine.
The league conducts its draft of college seniors before the college season begins.
SEE RELATED:Stanwick, who won the Tewaaraton Award as a junior after leading the Cavaliers to the national title last spring, was one of five Cavaliers selected. Maryland, which lost to Virginia in the title game, had three players picked.
